What to watch on TV tonight: Sunday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Meaning of Life with Terry Wogan (RTE One, 10.35pm)
Eoin Colfer’s episode makes way for Wogan’s, in tribute to the broadcaster who died today at the age of 77. His pal Uncle Gaybo talks to him about his thoughts on ageism, religion and the highs and lows of his life.
Rebellion (RTÉ One, 9.30)
It’s the fifth and final episode (it’s all on the RTÉ Player if you need to catch up) and public opinion is turning against the rebels. There’ll be plenty more opinions on Twitter no doubt.
The SAG Awards (RTÉ Two, 9pm)
Saoirse was late to the stage, Leo called Domhnall ‘Dumble‘, Brie won for Room. Lots to love. Lots of frocks to look at, beards to muse over.
Everybody’s talking about… The SAG Awards
What about the telly awards?
Jeffrey Tambor won a very deserved award for his role in Amazon’s Transparent. Idris Elba picked up his second award of the night for Luther (he also won for Beasts of No Nation). Kevin Spacey won for House of Cards, Uzo Aduba for Orange is the New Black, Viola Davis for How to Get Away With Murder and Queen Latifah for Bessie.
Associated Press Associated Press
Downton Abbey beat Game of Thrones and Mad Men to the Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama award, while Orange is the New Black took the comedy award.
