This Galway restaurant is bringing First Dates to life for Valentine's Day weekend

Genius.

FIRST DATES, THE show that sees strangers paired together for a first date, is one of the most beloved programmes on television.

While many of us might be too chicken to actually appear it on ourselves, there’s still a little part of you that wouldn’t mind going on a blind date just to see what happens.

And now you’re in luck as a restaurant in Galway is hosting its very own First Dates weekend.

White Gables in Moycullen is inviting singletons to entrust them with finding their perfect match on Valentine’s Day weekend.

From February 10th to 12th, the restaurant will bring loads of vetted couples together for a blind date with a twist.

Participants will be asked to fill out a questionnaire and the restaurant’s in-house matchmaker Sandra Heaney will pair people off based on their answers.

“We all love the show, so wanted to see if we could help bring people together this year,” Heaney said. “White Gables is a place that is synonymous with first dates in Galway, but we wanted to bring an element of fun and of course romance with the blind dating.”

We are hoping people take a chance and go for it on this – really there is nothing to lose.

Hey, at least there are no television cameras, right?

Dinner is €30 per person and those wishing to take part can apply for a place through the restaurant’s Facebook or their website.
