PART OF THE beauty of Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it.
And last night, the internet launched a full-on assault on this photo of an Antarctic Explorer serenading a penguin with a tune on the bagpipes.
The following side-by-side photo went viral last night.
And topped Reddit’s r/funny subreddit.
People quickly flocked to the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition to have their own fun with the caption.

Oh, they had their fun.
But not all of the edits were merely done for ‘fun’. Some were considered and thoughtful, and really took the penguins feelings into account.
added ‘apparently’ indifferent penguin, we cannot reliably verify the mind of the penguin as indifferent
Wikipedia: always committed to accuracy.
At one point, the ‘indifferent’ was removed altogether in favour of ‘captive’.

The debate over whether a penguin could really be described as ‘indifferent’ raged on and on.
And as of this morning, the caption was restored to its original.
We’ll miss you, indifferent penguin.
At least Wikipedia saw the humour, right?
