Winnie the Pooh banned from Polish playground for his 'dubious sexuality'

The councillors of the small town didn’t like that he was “half-dressed” either.

LOVABLE CHILDREN’S CHARACTER Winnie the Pooh been banned from a playground in Poland because of his “inappropriate dress” and “dubious sexuality”.

The town council of Tuszyn met to decide which famous children’s character should become the face of a new play area, reports the Croatian Times.

Winnie the Pooh was suggested, but was quickly dismissed by more conservative councillors as “inappropriate” for children. Yes – jolly, yellow, cuddly, honey-loving Winnie the Pooh. Inappropriate.

One councillor thought Pooh’s lack of wardrobe was a problem. “It is half naked which is wholly inappropriate for children,” he said.

He suggested a Polish fictional bear instead, who is “dressed from head to toe, unlike Pooh who is only dressed from the waist up.”

A female councillor pointed out Pooh’s “dubious sexuality”, and criticised the author AA Milne:

It doesn’t wear underpants because it doesn’t have a sex. It’s a hermaphrodite. This is very disturbing but can you imagine! The author was over 60 and cut [Winnie the Pooh's] testicles off with a razor blade because he had a problem with his identity.

What Winnie the Pooh book was SHE reading?

The councillors have yet to decide which character will represent the playground – but it’s safe to say that Pooh will not be it.
