Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves think their on-screen marriage may have been legit

A real priest was used in the scene.

BACK IN 1992, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves starred opposite each other in Frances Ford Coppola’s Dracula, and as it so happened, their characters tied the knot.

But given the fact that they were, you know, acting, it’s not like they actually got married.

Movie make-believe; you know yourself.

But according to Winona, we’ve all been a little bit naive in assuming that the wedding ceremony in Frances Ford Coppola’s film was simply part of the script.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the 46-year-old actress revealed that she had always harboured concerns that the ceremony had been legit.

We know, we know; there’s a bit to unpack here.

So basically, Winona and Keanu have reunited in recent weeks to promote their upcoming romantic-comedy, Destination Wedding, and Winona thought it probably best that she share her musings with her co-star.

We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life.

And why is that, Winona?

In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.

For obvious reasons, Keanu decided to tread carefully on this one.

He considered the fact that a real priest had been used for the on-screen ceremony, and then replied: ‘We said yes?’

Winona replied in the affirmative that they had, indeed, said yes.

Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day.

Yeah Keanu, don’t you remember?

“Oh my gosh, we’re married,” he replied, rallying as quick as anyone possibly could to the notion that they had 26 years of marriage under their belt without even realising.

OK yes guys, you’re married. Congrats.
