US woman eats nothing but pet food for 30 days, because why not
EVER GET THE urge to sample your pets’ food? No? You’re missing out, apparently.
Dorothy Hunter, who owns a pet shop in the US state of Washington, has vowed to eat nothing but pet food for 30 days to raise awareness about human and animal diets.
YouTube YouTube
Her challenge started while she was stacking shelves at her shop, as she told local news station KNDO:
Hunter is documenting her challenge on the shop’s YouTube channel – her latest video shows her happily chowing down on doggy cheese bites and chicken jerky.
She’s also eating canned pet food and and ‘breakfast bars’ meant for dogs.
The US Food and Drug Administration told TODAY that pet food is (obviously) not intended for humans, with people having different dietary needs than animals and all.
Even a representative from a company that makes pet food from ingredients intended for human consumption doesn’t rate the challenge:
She’s around two weeks in to her challenge now, and told KNDO that she lost 2.5 pounds after the first week. Please don’t let this be the new diet craze. We don’t think we could take it.
