ONE OF THE greatest joys in life is eavesdropping on strangers’ conversations. Don’t lie. You know it’s true.
Writer Kelly Fine was eating at a sushi restaurant last night when she saw a couple sitting down for a date. Her curiosity was understandably piqued when she heard this:
What followed was a seemingly terrible date with the biggest control freak on the planet – and Fine live-tweeted every awful detail.
As the conversation and attempts at ordering progressed, it emerged that his date has the patience of a saint:
Fine later discovered that it wasn’t a first date (noooo) and while the woman was wearing a ring on her left hand, they weren’t married.
Which is a relief, because this is ridiculous:
Fine had to leave the restaurant before the date ended (though she hung on for as long as she could) but we’ve heard all we need to know. Get out, girl! While you still can!
