IT WAS PROBABLY the most annoying phrase of 2012 but YOLO (You Only Live Once, for those not familiar with the acronym. Also, how? It was even used during an episode of Neighbours!) has become an everyday word for many of a certain age group.
So much so, that its meaning is lost on a lot of users. And it started a fight between Canadian rapper Drake, who says he coined the term, and Macy’s who printed merchandise with the letters emblazoned it it.
Despite that – and its ubiquitousness – some of this week’s YOLO tweets still made us LOL (sorry, couldn’t resist) or at least nod in agreement.
