AT THIS STAGE, most of us know what a certain corner of Twitter has to say about Ted Bundy.
But what does the actor, who played the serial rapist and murderer, make of the infamous individual?
Speaking to ET Canada at a red carpet event ahead of the film’s release, Zac Efron gave an insight into his take on one of the most prolific serial killers in US history.
“He’s a very confusing and confused individual,” Zac said of Bundy who he portrays in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
I think that a lot of the things that I’m perhaps known for in my work – kind of being slightly cheesy or maybe charming some people have said - that’s how Ted was.
“Ted was – he used – he was a mass manipulator and I think he’s a fascinating individual,” the 31-year-old continued.
Discussing his preparation ahead of the film’s shoot, Zac said he wanted to emulate Bundy, but was keen to avoid an impersonation.
I watched a little bit of the court footage, anything that was going to be immediately replicated in the movie, just to get the vibe of it and the feel of it, [and] a couple of interviews with Ted.
“But I wanted to make sure it wasn’t an impersonation,” Zac explained. “We look kind of similar and I think we have some of the same mannerisms, that’s just luck.”
Earlier this week, Netflix responded to the dialogue surrounding Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, and urged viewers to consider directing their praise elsewhere.
I've seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy’s alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service — almost all of whom are not convicted serial murderers
