Zambia's tourism Minister does bungee jump to prove it's safe

The Minister said he wanted to reassure tourists after an incident in which a woman’s bungee rope snapped.

ZAMBIA’S TOURISM MINISTER has done a bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge in an effort to reassure tourists that it’s still safe to do so.

Given Lubinda said he wanted to restore people’s faith in the adventure activity and reassure tourists.

Earlier this week a video surfaced of a 22-year-old Australian tourist who dived off the same bridge – but whose bungee cord snapped, plunging her into the Zambesi River.

Here’s the tourism minister (successfully) completing his bungee jump:

And just to compare, here’s the footage of the Australian tourist and her terrifying jump:

What do you think? Would you be persuaded that it’s safe to do a bungee jump?
