Zara used thin models in an ad about 'loving your curves', and people are not impressed
Wikimedia Wikimedia
ZARA ARE UNDER fire for an ad campaign imploring customers to ‘love their curves’ – that features two thin models. Try again, guys.
The jeans ad went viral after Today FM presenter Muireann O’Connell spotted the poster in a Dublin branch of the store…
…But it’s also garnered similar reactions in London and Spain.
People are finding it quite baffling that the shop would use two thin models to represent ‘loving your curves’ – and believe that ads like these could lead to poor self-image in teenagers and young women.
“To people slating the models, you’re missing the point,” said one Twitter user. “Zara, wake up. This is not curvy.”

Others pointed out the irony of the slogan considering Zara’s limited size range:

O’Connell pointed out that her issue with the campaign has nothing to do with the models themselves – rather the “marketeers that have distorted their image”.
Zara has yet to respond to the complaints. Watch this space.
