26-YEAR-OLD actress Zazie Beetz plays Domino, a mercenary with mutant powers in the sequel to Deadpool that is currently being filmed.

Beetz had been seen driving a black Ducatti motorbike during filming and when news broke out police were seen taking the same (or a very similar motorcycle) away from the scene.

After the incident Ryan Reynolds shared that the crew were ‘heartbroken, shocked and devastated‘. Zazie posted her own tribute yesterday – a heartfelt, handwritten note that began “On Monday, we tragically lost one of our own – Joi SJ Harris”.

It continued:

My heart has been breaking the past two days and I have been searching what to say or do. I know that what I feel is nothing compared to what her loved ones, friends and family are feeling. My heart and my love goes out to her and them all.

The cast and crew send peace, healing and their deepest condolences.

Huffington Post reported that SJ had managed to ‘complete the motorcycle trick four times before she lost control of her bike on the fifth attempt’.

On her last attempt, the bike appeared to accelerate when it was supposed to slow down as she took a corner. It crashed through the class of a building on the plaza they were filming on. The stunt driver was not wearing a helmet at the time as the character does not wear one in the scene in question.

Production was shut down but has now resumed.

SJ’s passion for motorcycles was made very clear on her personal Instagram account.
